The Countdown for the Biggest Divine Mela Begins

India being a fascinating country, always keeps attracting people from across the world. Country beholds some of the exotic locations which are not just like any other locations. But above all, India is known for its long running tradition and culture, which is a fascinating thing to experience. But above all is the kumbh mela which is celebrated in two different sets of periods. Ardh (half) Purna and Kumbh Mela (complete). The Ardh Kumbh Mela is celebrated in every 6 years at Haridwar and Allahabad, the Purna Kumbh Mela is celebrated in every 12 years at Nasik, Ujjain and Haridwar, whereas Maha Kumbh Mela is celebrated after 144 yrs or after 12 Purna Kumbh Mela.
The last Maha Kumbh Mela was held in 2010 at Haridwar; next will be held on 27th January, 2013 and will end on 25th February 2013 at Haridwar. It is estimated that more than 85 million pilgrims will be participating to this mela.
How Kumbh Mela takes place?
This fair entirely takes place according to the planetary motions. When Jupiter and sun is on zodiac sign of Leo, mela takes place in Nasik, when sun is on Capricon it is held in Haridwar, it is held in Ujjain when both Jupiter and sun is on Scorpio.
Activities taken place in Kumbh Mela:
It is one of its kind of religious fair where people get immersed into the world of devotion and clean their sin by dipping into holy Ganga River. It is quite fascinating to see when naked saints strive hard in the jam packed shore of Ganga river to take the holy bath, which is a religious bath. This is one such evetnt where you will find all types of saints living India who are changing as per the trend.
You can find some naked saints covering themselves with ashes powder all over their body; these saints are called as naga sanyasis, not wearing cloths even if there is a heavy winter fall. Millions of women and men float in the crowd to take a holy bath in Ganga river and gain purity.
Loudspeakers, chaos among people and in middle of all the devotion that stays in everyone's mind is quite an amazing experience that every traveler or worshiper will have. The entire environment gets drenched into the devotion which will enlighten your thoughts on faith.
Accommodation for the Kumbh Mela:
The biggest concern for the government of Allahabad is the accommodation for such millions of pilgrims attending the fair. There is special stay provision done by organizers to provide easy and safer stay under better price. There are special stay arrangements done for foreign travelers.However, sadhus and local travelers make a tent in the nearby of the river and stay until the events comes to an end.

25th February 2013- Maghi Purnima Snan
Taking precautions during the visit to this mela is very essential. If you are in group then make sure that you remain together rather than getting lost.
